Williamsburg’s Kingsmill Resort has announced Elizabeth Grimes will join the luxury hotel and spa as its new director of marketing.

Grimes has a strong background in online marketing, having previously served as the head of web development and email marketing for Pebble Beach Resorts, and as the web and graphic design manager for Xanterra Parks & Resorts.

As Kingsmill’s marketing head, Grimes will be responsible for managing the resort’s brand through digital marketing, website development and social media management across various online platforms.

Rich Keurajian, Kingsmill Resort’s vice president of sales and marketing, says he is excited to take advantage of the experience that Grimes has gained from marketing other golf resorts.

“We are very excited Elizabeth Grimes has joined the Kingsmill team,” Keurajian said. “As we rely more and more on our digital footprint and online presence, we are confident Elizabeth will leverage her experience by bringing new ideas to further develop the Kingsmill brand including the design and strategy of our website, CRM program and social media platform.”

Local LongHorn Steakhouse grill master Barry Neff was recently named regional champion of the company’s third annual Steak Master Series.

The Toano resident operates the grill at the chain restaurant’s 4970 Monticello Ave. location, and was among 57 regional winners out of the more than 5,000 employees selected to take part in the culinary competition.

Thomas Hall, executive vice president of operations at LongHorn Steakhouse, says the winners of the competition exemplify the brand’s commitment to quality.

“At LongHorn, our grilling expertise stands as a testament to the quality and care we put into our steaks,” Hall said. “Barry is one of our top Grill Masters who proved that they’re the best of the best and brings their passion for serving expertly grilled steaks into the restaurant every day.”

Neff has worked at LongHorn Steakhouse for five years and has been in the restaurant industry for more than two decades. He says his favorite part of the job is his team.

The Steak Masters Series awards cash prizes totaling more than $200,000 to its winners, according to ta news release. As a regional winner, Neff will now compete in the semi-finals.

The top seven finalists will compete at LongHorn Steakhouse’s Orlando, Fla., headquarters later this month.

Retirement community Williamsburg Landing has announced Stephanie Kudlacik Aguilar will join the company’s Life Plan Community as its new business development coordinator.

As the new business development coordinator, Aguilar will be responsible for “generating leads for all product lines and services of Williamsburg Landing,” according to a news release.
